Estimated Costs


The following estimated costs are merely a guideline to help you plan and budget for the year. Remember that these are estimates only and are, in most cases, rounded up. Detailed cost information for an event is posted as it becomes available.


In a typical year, a Performing Company member can be expected to pay for the following items and events:


Participation Fee
All dancers pay a yearly participation fee to help cover rehearsal costs.

  • $125


Monthly Team Rate Tuition (for unlimited classes)

  • Connectors – $90 (this price will be effective beginning January 2009)

  • Mini – $124

  • Junior/Teen/Senior – $152


Warm-Up Suit

  • Child Size $85.00 (this price includes personalized jacket and pants)
  • Adult Size $100.00 (this price includes personalized jacket and pants)


Workshops
We attend three to four outside conventions a year plus TAMJAMS! and our own August Intensive Workshop. The price ranges represent typical pricing for the Junior, Teen and Senior rates (Mini and Connectors may be slightly less)

  • Three to four convention/competitions @ $175- $200each

  • TAMJAMS! (mandatory) – $280 (this is a costly workshop but well worth it), Beginners are around $240.

  • Dance Connection Summer Intensive Workshop – $425 Levels III-VI, $325 Levels I-II


Competitions
Approximately three to four a year

  • $25-$30 for group dances (per dancer per competition)

  • $75-$90 for solos/duos/trios (per dancer per competition)

Hotel Costs

Approximately three to four a year.For all weekend workshop/competitions we attend, Tami will book a room for each team. This is to provide a space for each to team to prepare for their competition. We will ask team parents to help supervise each room and also ask for volunteers to help collect costumes, bring them to the rooms, donate healthy foods and snacks, provide dinner, etc. We split the cost amongst all team members whether or not you use the room is up to you but it is usually a fun place to gather to snack, relax in-between competitions and get ready.

  • $15 per dancer per or maybe more if we contribute to food

Costumes

  • $100 per costume per dance


Shoes
Approximately two pairs per year but a particular dance may require a specific shoe.

  • $50 – $75 a pair


Master Classes
These are classes where guest teachers come to the studio to teach.

  • $25-$30 per master class


Other Costs

  • Transportation – gas, parking, etc.

  • Food/Dining – lunch/dinner while at competitions/workshops, etc.

  • Spending money – extra money for buying dance-related items at competitions/workshops

Note about Billing for the Performing Company

Dance Connection keeps five separate accounts for various items: (Fall-Spring, Summer Classes, Summer Camps/Intensives, Nutcracker and Performing Company). Therefore, we ask that you pay your Performing Company items separately. We realize this may be an inconvenience but it will make thing easier in the long run when it comes to billing. In the past, we have not consistenly sent out monthly billing for the Performing Company but we will do so beginning this year. Many studios automatically add an additional fee to competitions costs that are above and beyond the price that is charged by the host company. Dance Connection does not do that (and we don’t want to add this) so please pay your bills on time.
